10th - 21st October
Two years on from the Northumbria Boundary Trek and the focus moves to the Lake District for the second Charity Walk. Accompanying Andy for the 12 day trek will be Rosie and Ian Wood as they embark (along with as many supporters as possible) on a gruelling clockwise walk which will include scaling the peaks of 18 fells, walking alongside 12 lakes and 12 tarns in this, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Country.
A total altitude of over 35,000 feet lies ahead as we raise money for two worthwhile charities, one national in Help for Heroes, and one local to the North East, Willow Burn Hospice.

Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The message of the charity is simple: We are strictly non political and non critical; we simply want to help. We believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. We may not be able to prevent our soldiers from being wounded, but together we can help them get better.

Willow Burn is an independent hospice in Lanchester, County Durham providing high quality nursing care for people who have a life limiting illness. The nursing staff are supported by a dedicated team of therapists, family support workers, medical, admin/fundraisers, catering, domestic staff and volunteers who offer a wide range of services to the Derwentside community. Funds are needed to support a recently launched £5m building project for new premises that will further develop services at the hospice & in the local area. Our walk is taking place during National Hospice Care Week and we look forward to raising money for Willow Burn as well as raising the profile of the hospice movement nationally.
Please donate generously as we attempt to raise our target sum of £10,000. All donations will be split evenly between the two charities. To donate, please visit our justgiving.com page
Hopefully we can welcome as many of you as possible along the route. Please refer to the map and detailed itinerary to select your preferred day which will include breathtaking scenery throughout as autumn descends.
Thank you, your help, support and generosity are very much appreciated.
